Twinkle Twinkle Little Star

All I need
Is my one star in the sky
To wish for you everyday
And even though I know
We're far apart
It helps to think that
We might be wishing
On the same bright star
I remember when
We walked upon the beach
Under those stars
And when we got tierd
We would lie flat upon the sand
And look up
We had the sky up there
All speckled with them
And I would think to myself
That if I could reach up
And hold a star
For everytime you've made me smile
The entire evening sky
Would be in the palm of my hand

You Don't Belong

If there ever was a moment
I wish I could forget
It would be the moment that I met you
The moment that you settled into my heart
And refused to leave
Because then I could go to sleep at night
Not knowing
There was someone like you out there
Because it's impossible to be friends with someone
When everytime you look at them
You're thinking about how much more
You really want
Alone
Just you and I foever more
But in reality
We must come back to our senses and realization
Back to a world we wish to escape
Awakened by the truth
Of what's right
What's wrong
And what's not ours
Because loving you
Is like trying to touch a star
I know I can never reach you
But I can't help but try

Illusion

Love begins with a smile

It carves itself a home
In your already delicate heart
Weakening it

Love grows with a kiss

It fills a jar with them
Places it precariously, so that
With one accidental bump
It could come crashing down
Tearing love apart

Love ends with a teardrop

The fragile heart to weak
To hold loves weight
It runs around leaving regrets
And scars

Hopeless love please leave me
Don't come back for me
Don't come back at all

Adore

I love writing
I love the swirl and swing of words
As they tangle with human emotions
The inner music the words make
I write entirely to find out what I'm thinking
What I'm looking at
What I see
What it means
What I want
And what I fear
I fill the paper
With the outpouring of my heart

A Chance Encounter

Sarah pushed her way through the already crowded plane towards seat M22. The constant chatter as everyone settled into their seats rang through the cabin and Sarah wished they would quiet down. She wasn't happy about being woken up at four in the morning by her boss and learning she had a seven o'clock flight to San Fransico to meet with the owner of the company she worked for. Her boos wouldn't even tell her why she was needed, she just needed to get her butt on that plane. It didn't help that she was on a plane either, she hated flying. The turbulance always made her air sick and she got off the plane feeling jet-lagged and wishing she was shooting the breeze in her sky blue VW bug, enjoying the sights and relaxing aura of traveling by car.
"Five mintutes until take-off folks." The pilots voice rang loud and clear through the cabin.
"Finally, I want to get this over with." Sarah muttered in exapseration.
She took her place in the aisle seat and settled in for a long ride.
Just as she closed her eyes a mans voice exclaimed
"Excuse me, but I believe that seat next to your's is mine, mind if i squeeze through?"
Sarah opened her eyes to the face of a man roughly twenty seven, with short brown hair and a dazzling smile. As she gazed into his bright blue eyes something moved inside her. It was "love at first sight" you could say. Then as quickly as it had come, it was gone, and she was left gawking at the man, who was still smiling.
"Oh um, yeah sorry." Embarassed, Sarah stood up and let the man sit down.
Eight minutes later they were comfortably up in the air. Stewards were taking drink orders and asking if anyone would like a set of headphones.
"I'm John by the way." Sarah turned her face away from the window and smiled. "Nice to meet you John. I'm Sarah."

The Love of God

I remember when life was easy
The biggest problems were when
Someone took your crayon
Or having to decide what dress to wear
You felt like a princess on your birthday
And would run and hide from your parents
When they came to get you from a friends house
Nowadays
Life isn't like that
No more fighting over crayons
Or hiding from your mom
It's not that easy anymore
Stress is constantly around the corner
From family
School
Even drama between friends
Your heart gets ripped to pieces
Then clumsily put back together
You don't know how much more you can take
But there's one thing you can always rely on
The love that God has for you
He will always be there
A shoulder to cry on
Someone to bear your pain
All he wants in return
Is love

Writing Fire

The annoyance when you feel the need
To write something
Put your thoughts to words
But it just won't come
You sit there
Drumming your fingers
Wracking your brain
For something to write about
How to start
Your mind draws a blank
You know there's something there
Waiting to escape
To flow from the bottom of your soul
The black ink forming beautiful words
Dancing across the paper
Then there's the spark
That starts the fire
The words flare up inside you
Burn through the pages
Until there's nothing left but smoke
And a page full of firey letters

The Demonata

The full moon shone brightly, high in the sky at this late hour, against the tar colored backdrop of the sky. There was not a star in sight, just murky clouds floating dreamily around. Two men stood in the middle of a graveyard, waiting for something it seemed.
One looked about twenty, short, brown hair, bright green eyes. He was very calm and composed. He turned toward the other, a boy of about eighteen. You could tell he was nervous by the way his chocolate brown eyes darted everywhere and he kept running his fingers through his shaggy, blonde hair.
"Calm down Ryan, this is going to go fine and we will both get out of here alive." Ryan looked at him incredulously and a bit angry.
"Calm down!? How the hell can I calm down James!? We are about to meet with a demon! These things are dangerous and can't be trusted! I can't believe I let you talk me into this."
Suddenly they were plunged into darkness as a cloud obscured the moon. A bloodcurdling scream escaped James lips, then silence.
"James? James!?" No answer
As the cloud passes by and the moon comes back into view, Ryan notices the footprints. They are odd footprints, shaped like a birds, but way to big to belong to one. As the moon hits them, something shines on the ground and as he bends down to get a closer look he realizes its a mixture of blood and some type of blue, slimy substance. He stands back up, horrified. The footprints disappear off into the distance, and he knows the demon has taken James with him. He follows the footprints, careful not to step in to slimy, bloody mess.
They footprints lead him to a hole underneath the gravestone of the Allen family. Debating on wether or not he should go down there to try and save James, he lists the Pros and Cons to himself.
"Pros, I will be able to find James...ummm" Not seeing anymore obvious Pros, he moves onto the Cons.
"Cons, I might not be able to find James and will be stuck down there forever and a demon could always find me and kill me. Even if i do find James, how am I supposed to get him away from the demon without getting killed? And even if i do find him and get him away, I might not be able to find the exit."
Even though there were more Cons than Pros, and James had brought this one himself (Ryan had warned him this was dangerous) James was his best friend and he would never be able to live with himself if he left James here without even trying to rescue him.
"Alright then here goes nothing." Ryan stepped into the hole and was swallowed by the darkness.

Pure and Tender Lily

Silence so absolute
But so peaceful
Rays of light shining down
Through the canopy of cool leaves
The moist grass tickling your feet
And bugs brushing against your legs
There is a presence here
A holy presence
It fills you
Almost overwhelms you
It walks with you
Stays with you wherever you go
It's there as you look down
Upon the world so serene and colorful
There in the shade of a tree
Branches waving in the warm breeze
And there as you kneel before a cross
Looking up into the face of a savior

Si Vis Pacem, Para Bellum "If You Want Peace, Prepare for War

Gunshots rip through the air
People screaming and running
Tripping over each other
Trying to escape
Amidst the chaos
Men and women
Dressed in army gear
Push against the flow of bodies
Not away from the danger
But towards it
Each mind is different
But one thought ring clear through each
Don't worry about your own saftey
Stop the gunshots whatever it takes
And peace
Peace rang through their minds
On that wartorn day

"What I'm Looking at is Only a Shell. What is Most Important is Invisible"

A shattered mirror
A broken heart
The taunting
The teasing
She'd had enough
She wanted it to end
Have someone love her
Say she was beautiful
She knew deep down she was
Or was she
The names rang through her head
And down to her heart
Worthless
Ugly
She crouched down
Picked up a mirror fragment
Looked at her reflection one last time
Winced
Laid the fragment among the others
Curled up into a ball
And wept
